Volunteer Information

The Houston Fire Department’s Operation Stocking Stuffer Toy Drive is one of the largest in the city. Sponsorship and volunteer opportunities are always available. Whether you would like to host your own toy drive, donate money or volunteer to sort toys, there are many ways you and your organization can make this holiday season a joyous one for thousands of Houston area children.

Volunteer Opportunities in the time of Covid-19
HFD will make every effort to provide the safest, cleanest environment for our volunteers. PPE, hand sanitizer and other safety measures will be in place as our volunteers sort through thousands of toys. Social distancing guidelines will also be followed and every toy will be sanitized before sorting and bagging. HFD would like to invite our corporate partners to gather their volunteers and join us as we turn our toy warehouse into Santa’s workshop. Our toy sorting days provide a fun opportunity for your company to participate in a “Day of Service” as they help sort thousands of donations just in time for our Great Toy Giveaway. Lunch will be
provided for all volunteers. Just pick a day that you would like to help and we will schedule your group. In addition to sorting, we invite corporate volunteers to come out for "The Great Toy Giveaway Day- December 18, 7:00am-the last toy is gone.

Volunteers need to arrive between 7:00- 7:30 a.m. Breakfast and lunch will be provided. Volunteers should wear comfortable clothes and shoes and prepare for cooler and possibly wet weather. Masks, gloves and hand sanitizer will be provided but you are encouraged to bring your own.

The giveaway will be a drive-thru format to help protect our volunteers, staff and families in the cars. Minimal contact will be followed along with social distancing and sanitation guidelines.
